Our founders, Keith Lichtman and Richard Frankowski, have over 30 years of collective experience in securities, fiduciary, and insurance law. In addition to serving as a wealth advisor, Keith is also a fourth-generation member of a family business, and a mediator. Richard represents individuals and families against financial advisors, broker-dealers, and others who have mistreated them. He is also a best-selling author of The Practitioner’s Guide to Securities Arbitration.
RICK FERRI, CFA
Rick Ferri, CFA* provides us with various services, including assisting with developing firm-wide investment strategies. Rick started his investment career in 1989 as a stockbroker at a large Wall Street firm. In 1999, he left the brokerage industry and founded an advisory firm that focused solely on low-cost investment principles. At its peak, the firm employed 20 people and managed over $1.5 billion in assets.
He is the author of multiple investment books and hundreds of articles on investing. He has been published in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, among other publications. Rick holds a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master of Science from Walsh College. He also served 21 years in the United States Marine Corps, both on active duty and the reserves, as a fighter pilot.
Jim Garvin, CFP
Jim Garvin, CFP** is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ who helps us with, among other things, preparing and maintaining our Members’ cash-flow based financial plans and investment policy statements. Growing up near Youngstown, Ohio Jim knows the value of a dollar and a hard day’s work. After graduating from Youngstown State with a degree in Finance, he worked as a small business consultant and then as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Afterwards, he started his own financial planning and consulting firm, Garvin Planning Co. Jim is passionate about working with “fee-only” / fiduciary firms like Maycomb Wealth who commit to put their clients’ interests ahead of their own. Outside the office he is an avid outdoorsman and traveler. In 2019, he completed a month-long trek in Nepal’s Himalayas.
Rechere McCoy serves as an Executive Assistant at Maycomb Wealth. She provides important clerical support on issues ranging from client service to compliance, as well as marketing and operations. Rechere graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S in Psychology. She also has a strong interest in personal finance and financial planning. When she is not working she enjoys hiking and exploring different foods and cultures through travel, reading, and live music.
